Indicators of reducing interest rates

Senior Secretary of the Department of Internal Resources and National Board of Revenue (NBR) has indicated that the interest rate on National Savings Certificate may be reduced. Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan He said this while addressing the inauguration of ‘National Savings Week 2019’ at National Sports Council Building, Paltan in the capital on Saturday. He said, ‘A committee has been formed to work on overall affairs, including investigation of irregularities in the interest adjustment and savings certificate purchase. If the interest rate is slightly reduced by the recommendation of the committee, then it will be more than the interest rate of the bank, so that small savings will be beneficial. “Currently, five years of savings certificate will be of interest rate 11.52, five-year pension saving interest rate of 11 decimal 76, five Year-end Bangladesh Savings Certificate 11.28, three-year profit based savings Rera zero percent interest rates 11 4 and a three-year post office savings interest rate of 8 percent to 11 percent. National Savings Week 2015 has started nationwide today in keeping with the theme of ‘Sustainable Prosperity Stage’ and improving customer service standards. It will continue till March 1.

NBR Chairman formally inaugurated this week. At that time, Director General of the National Savings Directorate, Shamsunnahar Begum and other officials were present.
Mosharraf Hossain said tax identification number (TIN) has been made mandatory for the savings certificate investors. He hoped that the number of e-TIN has increased.
In front of the National Sports Council in the morning on the Savings Week, there will be a spectacular procession in front of the Savings Week banner-festoon with various slogans. The procession ends in front of the National Press Club-secretariat and in front of the sports council building.
On the occasion of Savings Week, procession, meeting-seminar, banner-festoon, distribution of savings scheme handbills and promotion of savings will be carried out. However, the savings scheme does not have any special facilities during the week.

As part of the week’s program, the procession was held today across the country. Savar motivation activities will be held on February 24 in the public and private offices of the country. February 25 will be encouraged by professionals to save. And on 26th February Savvy Motivation will be run in factories and businesses. On Feb 27, awareness programs will continue in the educational institutions of the country. The assessment week of February 28 will be held in the yard meeting and the week of March 1. In order to inspire the common man, the Handbook related handbook will be distributed.
